Manual Handling Training by Aim Fire Ltd

Manual Handling Training

Designed for all levels of staff that carry out Manual Handling activities as a part of their normal work. Introduces delegates to the hazards of which they are exposed by undertaking Manual Handling duties, the risks and controls available and what to expect from a Manual Handling 'Assessment'.


The course consists of:
  • The process and impact of manual handling in the workplace.
  • Manual handling injuries, and the activities that cause them.
  • Techniques to minimise injury, when manual handling is required.
  • Applying the best practice for activities that may involve lifting, pushing or carrying.
  • Identify methods for making tasks safer by the use of mechanical aids or specific equipment.
  • The contents of conducting a manual handling assessment.
  • The duties imposed by the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992.
  • Practical Manual Handling workplace assessments


On completion of this training session, delegates will have a clear understanding of their role in regards safe manual handling practices within the context of their own work environment. Successful completion of this course will prepare delegates to look carefully at their own work activities and contribute to the development of safer methods and tasks, in co-operation with their managers and supervisors.
All delegates receive a certificate of attendance and a comprehensive course handbook.


The course can be delivered on-site at your work place or at our various training venues. Manual handling Training can be run anywhere in Kent, London, East Sussex, Surrey and Essex.
